Position Overview:

Our team is currently seeking an Intern Architect/Architectural Technologist who will be involved in a wide variety of work from studies, heritage research, predesign, approvals processing and all the phases of project delivery up to and including contract administration.

Responsibilities to include:

Managing small to medium scale projects either independently or as part of a team;
Prepares detailed design and construction drawings using Revit;
Performs effective analysis of applicable building codes, by-laws and other regulations and technical documents/reports to which a project may be subject to;
Performs accurate analysis in report format for Urban Design and Cultural Heritage Assessments.
Liaise with the Consultant team and assist the Project Manager and/or Project Architect;
Provide design development support;
Other related duties will be assigned as required.
Provide promotional support on RFPs when required.

Qualifications to include:

Minimum of two (2) + years of experience in architectural practice with significant experience preferably in institutional, municipal, and custom residential projects;
Experience in heritage projects would be an additional benefit, and intern membership in CAHP would be an asset;
Understanding of residential wood frame construction is a strong benefit;
Must have proficiency in Revit; A minimum of two (2) + years experience working in Revit is a must;
Ability to work well either on a team or independently;
Self-reliant, able to independently resolve design and contract drawing issues and unknowns through the resources of the firm, the consultant team or industry research;
Experience with Authorities Having Jurisdiction including site plan approval and Committee of Adjustment;
Experience in construction documentation (especially in envelope detailing) for institutional, heritage, custom residential or municipal projects;
Competency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel.

Salary: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
