Overview

IGT’s Platform Quality Assurance team creates value for IGT by ensuring our products are of the highest quality, by enhancing employee productivity, and by driving business efficiency and bottom-line results. As a Software QA Tester Intern in our group, you will work with your team and other game development disciplines in an environment where your direct input will influence product quality and help drive an outstanding experience for our customers. This position is based out of our Moncton, New Brunswick facility.

Responsibilities

The Software QA Tester Intern works with other members of the test team to debug software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products.

· Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans, automated scripts, and programs for testing.

· Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures.

· Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software.

· Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action.

· Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems.

· Plans, configures, and maintains appropriate test environment, including hardware components, cabling, and network connectivity.

· Ensures quality computer integration into the overall functions of scientific computation, data acquisition, and processing.

Qualifications

· Strong understanding of the software development cycle.

· Experience with white-box/unit testing

· Very strong troubleshooting skills

· Experience writing scripts

· Ability to independently research, learn, and apply newfound knowledge to your work

· Experience with high-level programming/scripting languages such as Python, C++, C# is an asset

· Experience with network protocols or network support/engineering is an asset.

· Experience in set-up and configuration of electronic/computer hardware is an asset.
