The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern currently enrolled or with a bachelor's degree in Finance, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field to join our team. The intern will assist in collecting and analyzing data, preparing spreadsheets, and ultimately helping to prepare comprehensive reports for high-level management to support key business decisions. This position will also involve gathering and analyzing data to provide insights into market trends, customers, industry movements, and other dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in utilizing the Bloomberg terminal to gather precise financial ratios, comparable metrics (comps), and pertinent data for portfolio analysis and investment decisions.
Ensure regular updates and maintenance of data to support ongoing business strategies and investment activities.
Verify the accuracy and completeness of collected financial data to uphold data integrity standards.
Construct interactive dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Excel to report monthly and quarterly financial performance.
Ensure dashboards deliver clear, concise, and actionable insights for stakeholders in finance and securities investment.
Aid in compiling comprehensive data on historical market trends and current economic scenarios for insightful portfolio analysis.
Support risk analysis efforts by identifying potential business risks and assessing their impact on financial portfolios.
Assist in the review and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Identify areas of financial strength and improvement opportunities, providing recommendations for optimized portfolio management.
Evaluate financial metrics to support strategic planning and decision-making processes.

What You Need to Succeed:

Bachelor's degree in finance, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
Basic proficiency in using Bloomberg terminal, Yahoo finance, Benzinga, or other finance related tools is an asset.
Knowledge of financial/capital markets is an asset.
Understanding of data mining, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Organizational and time management skills.
