Reporting to the Manager, Digital Media and Content and the Digital Media and Content Coordinator, the Digital Media and Content Intern supports the team coverage of the Ottawa 67’s on our digital media platforms. The Intern must be a team player who can balance creativity and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Hard work, a positive attitude and dedication are essential to this position. Candidates must be available to attend *all Ottawa 67’s home games, including evenings and weekends (some exceptions can apply).
Students who wish to participate in an internship opportunity with Ottawa Sports & Entertainment Group must be a part of an accredited post-secondary program where fulfillment of internship credit is required for graduation.
- This internship is a full-time position for four (4) months from September 2024 to December 2024.
- Candidates must be enrolled in a post secondary education program offering class credits for the internship placement; this is an unpaid position.
What You’ll Do
Game Day Responsibilities
- Take phone video of atmosphere, behind-the-scenes, and fan content to post on team stories and other OHL resources;
- Edit game highlight package required by league and post to team YouTube channel and website;
- Capture concourse partnership activations during intermissions (autograph signings, bouncy castles, merchandise, bands, etc.);
- Assist with set up and tear down of walk-in and media backdrop;
- Assist with fan giveaways and in-game social media activations.
Additional Responsibilities
- Label and archive footage and photos within team Dropbox; including adding photos to player and staff folders;
- Work closely with social team to come up with new and/or trendy ideas for game day coverage, with a focus on theme games and game day atmosphere;
- Assist with content production on practice days;
- Assist with Media Day;
- Contribute to the overall creativity of the organization by pushing the brand in new directions, brainstorming new ideas and playing an active role within the Brand & Content team.
What’s Needed
- Pursuing a post secondary degree or diploma in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field;
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Premiere specifically);
- Knowledge of the OHL, junior hockey and hockey in general;
- Ability to be professional around elite athletes on a day-to-day basis;
- Photo or video content creation experience is an asset.
