What role you will play in our team
As an Engineering Intern, you will support one of our specialized teams within the refinery operations, including Process Engineering, Applications & Systems, or Environmental Engineering. You will work closely with integrated teams to support day-to-day operations and long-term initiatives, ensuring safe, reliable, and environmentally compliant operations.
What you will do
Process Engineering:
- Collaborate with operations, reliability, and automation engineers to support safe and reliable unit operation.
- Identify, develop, and implement operational and facility improvements focusing on safety, reliability, economics, and sustainability.
- Communicate the status of unit operations, improvement opportunities, and operating costs to various stakeholders.
Applications & Systems Engineering:
- Support identifying, implementing, and maintaining basic process control applications.
- Assist with day-to-day monitoring and support for existing applications on process units.
- Develop new applications and maintain the performance of existing ones.
- Support software/database requirements.
Environmental Engineering:
- Report environmental performance data as required by Provincial and Federal governments.
- Develop and implement environmental standards and manage systems for the site.
- Maintain site documentation of regulatory compliance directories.
- Conduct routine environmental field inspections and surveys.
About you
Skills and Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process Control, Computer Science, or Environmental Engineering from a Canadian Accredited University.
- Demonstrated leadership and strong academic skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Your most recent unofficial transcript(s) must be submitted with your application.
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
- Commitment to safety.
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and results-oriented individuals who enjoy working with people and achieving superior results.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team-based environment.
- Previous industry experience is beneficial but not essential.
