Location
This is a hybrid position. You must be in the Ottawa, Canada office, at least three days a week.
About the team
As a member of the Financial Planning & Analysis team reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Financial Analyst Co-op will be the preparer of recurring internal deliverables and support and execute analysis required for governance reporting as a publicly traded company. Our ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and results driven critical thinker who is willing to learn and be a proactive team player.
This is a full-time, 8 or 12-month position, starting January 2025
To be eligible for a co-op or intern position at Kinaxis, you must either be currently enrolled in full-time education or, if you are a recent or upcoming graduate, your graduation date must be within 12 months of the placement end date.
What you will do
- Data extraction and analysis to develop, prepare and present financial data that is timely, accurate, and reliable
- Provide financial recommendations based on prepared analysis that is relevant for effective business decision making
- Support quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes for functional groups by collaborating with other key stakeholders and collecting and consolidating data from relevant areas
- Deeply understand the nature of the functional group you are supporting; Support their evolving business needs through financial analysis by understanding and modeling key drivers and metrics.
- Prepare monthly management reporting deliverables that clearly communicate actual performance vs. budget and key metrics.
- Work closely with the HR Business Partner team to provide consistent communication of objectives and adjustments to the forecast
- May perform additional ad-hoc projects or provide support to other teams within Finance upon request
What we are looking for
- Currently enrolled in a Commerce or Business program with a specialization/major in Accounting
- Attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Things that would definitely help
- Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Any accounting, finance, or audit related work experience
- Any knowledge of IFRS accounting principles
- Strong business acumen and experience in financial modeling
