About this Opportunity:
We are looking for a Project Engineering Student to work on the Facilities/Project Engineering team for a 4- or 8-month term beginning in May 2025. This position will be based in-person, in our downtown Calgary office, with the potential for occasional Field visits within Alberta.
What you’ll be doing:
- You will be exposed to typical engineering responsibilities in a Facilities/Project Engineering role, including project scope development, design reviews, cost estimating, project schedule management, field construction, and commissioning and start-up.
- You will be supervised and mentored by a Senior Engineer within the group for your work term
- You will learn about project management principles for facilities and pipeline design and construction
- You will assist Project Engineers with various project related activities such as following up with action items, coordinating activities between different teams, helping with cost tracking and reporting, and completing documentation for project close outs
Who you are:
- You are currently enrolled in a Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Energy, Oil and Gas, Electrical, Civil or similar engineering program accredited for professional designation in Canada
- You are someone with a desire for career development that includes oil and gas experience (previous experience in oil and gas, especially field experience, would be considered an asset)
- You are able to work effectively in a team environment
- You are someone who values feedback as a learning tool
- You are motivated, hard-working and determined to achieve superior results
- You are focused and have a keen attention to detail
- You have:
- a strong safety mindset
- a strong obligation to accountability
- strong computer skills including data analysis and MS Office skills

To be eligible for a Paramount Resources student position, you must meet the following requirements:
- You are currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution
- You are available to work the full duration of the outlined work term
- You are currently residing in Calgary or willing to relocate for your work term
- You are legally entitled to work in Canada without restriction, by way of one of the following:
- Canadian Citizenship
- Permanent Residency
- Valid work permit
