OverviewThe Supply Chain Planning Intern contributes to the success of PepsiCo Beverages Canada by ensuring raw materials and ingredients are on-site and available for our production lines to run. They will provide direct support to the Manufacturing Supervisors and Managers, and the Supply Planner by ensuring timely and accurate ordering, delivery, receipt, organization, and inventory of raw materials and ingredients.
This is a 1 year co-op or internship.
Responsibilities- Responsible for identifying the requirements of raw materials needed for the production facility and order accordingly;
- Working with raw materials suppliers in the following capacity:
- Validate material forecast for the production facility;
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships, acting as a main point of contact;
- Address any quality or service issues with the suppliers directly utilizing our accountability tools.
- Conducting daily and weekly reconciliation of all raw material ingredient usage;
- Optimize the inventory levels to meet the business’ supply and demand;
- Learn the business to understand the real time demand;
- Lead the business’ innovation agenda by communicating details of new products to the Manufacturing and Warehouse leaders and frontline employees;
- Connect with the frontline production teams to:
- Monitor and communicate inventory levels and needs according to the daily production schedule;
- Receive direct feedback to communicate quality and service expectations up to suppliers;
- Complete APS transactions and all period end processes;
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications- Completion of High School Diploma
- Bachelors’ Degree (Supply Chain or Operations Management) preferred
- Advanced capability in Microsoft Office for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong problem solving, adaptability, and organizational skills a must
- Ability to work independently and prioritize work
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to gain alignment across multiple functions and communicate concisely and effectively
- Exceptional follow up and initiation ability
- Knowledge of inventory control programs is preferred
- Knowledge of payroll systems such as Kronos is preferred
- 2-3 years of administrative experience
Hours of work:
- Sunday – Thursday or Monday – Friday
- 8 hour work days anytime between 6am and 5pm
