Position Overview: As a Business Development Intern at SwiftAds, you will support the growth of our client base and market presence while gaining valuable industry experience. Your focus will be on assisting with identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and contributing to the sales strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Generation: Assist in identifying potential clients through networking, cold calling, digital outreach, and industry events.
- Client Relationships: Support the development and maintenance of strong client relationships. Help understand client needs and present solutions.
- Sales Strategy: Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to assist in developing strategic plans for market expansion and client acquisition.
- Pitching: Aid in the preparation and delivery of presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to stay updated with industry trends and competitive landscape.
- Negotiations: Learn about contract negotiations and support the preparation of agreements.
- CRM Management: Help maintain accurate records in the CRM system and track progress against goals.
- Performance Metrics: Support the analysis of sales performance metrics to refine approaches.
Qualifications:
- Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience: Some experience in business development, sales, or marketing is beneficial, but not required. Experience with startups is an asset.
- Skills:
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical Thinking: Basic analytical skills to understand market trends.
- Tech Savvy: Familiarity with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of digital marketing tools is a plus.
- Eagerness to Learn: High willingness to learn, take on new challenges, and make mistakes.

- A $200/week honorarium paid at the end of the internship (min 10 hours/week commitment)
- OR 15% commission on gross sales for the duration of the contract with new clients or one year, whichever is shorter

- Practical experience on building a business, finding new clients, and growing a business at the early stages
- Consultation on how to validate, start, grow, and scale your business idea
- We expect you’d be able to start your own SaaS or online business at the end of this internship
SwiftAds is a remote-first company, however, we have office space in Toronto if you’d prefer to come into the office to work for the day. We do not require staff to work in the office.
